This delicate and intricate dial is made by hand in several stages and it takes up to 40 hours to complete. The process starts with creating the ivory enamel dial using the "Grand Feu" enameling technique. Next, the artist who has been with Jaquet Droz since 2001, paints the miniature painting on the enamel dial using special enamel paint. During the painting process, the dial goes through the fire again approximately 20 more times.
